KIRKUS REVIEW

This America undertakes to show the nature of the challenge implicit in the achievement of the Great Society outlined by President Johnson on May 22, 1964. Ken Heyman (who also photographed Margaret Mead's Family) traveled the country for six months and took 13,000 pictures from which those used were drawn; President Johnson has written the introductory and concluding texts.
