LET'S GO TO A HORSE SHOW

Jody's city friend Brenda is visiting with her on the weekend of Jody's first horse show, which gives Jody's parents a chance to explain to the uninitiated all about such matters as grooming a horse and the difference between Hunters and Jumpers. At the show Jody and Shaker win second place in the Novice Horsemanship class and later on that afternoon they do pretty well on jumping (even with a little mistake at the end), winning encouragement all round as they go home to rest for tomorrow's events. A glossary, diagrams and some classroom-oriented ""things to do""(!) are appended. If you've seen beginning riders being led around the ring by a grownup walking with the reins, you'll get the feel of this.
