The wonderful hunting dog's mistress proves to our satisfaction that she has something under her wonderful tall striped cap. When the hound fails to catch a rabbit for her, even though he is sleek and fast, he agrees to fetch her cap for a bearded little man in return for a rabbit the man is carrying. The lady however protests, and in the ensuing melee the rabbit runs off with the cap. ""'This is all very foolish,' said the lady. 'I will make a striped cap for everyone and will eat vegetable soup from now on.'"" Sweat's happy cast of man, woman, rabbits, birds and hound -- all seen romping at the end in identical striped caps -- makes it seem just that simple and sensible.
