TWO IS LONELY

And three is the sequel to The L-Shaped Room and The Backward Shadow being more about the lonesome twogetherness of Jane Graham, and her son David, whom she's borne and raised alone -- he's about eight now. But the L-shaped room is coming full square as Jane is happy to consider the father David really needs; perhaps Andy, so guarded and serious; until she hears that Toby whom she loved seven-eight years ago (not David's father) has secured a divorce and is anxious to secure her. In Israel. Miss Banks is still a good example of the female as against feminist writer and there are those high cholesterol words (""anguishings,"" ""starveling,"" etc.) but surely she has a following since it's expansive laundromat reading at its best.
