A book for the small householder, for the man who acquires a half-made garden, or a jungle where a garden once was, and who has limited means for replanning. Practical directions, basically sound, so presented as to be feasible in whole or in part. Charts -- plans -- lists of plants -- arranged by color, size, time of year, section of the country. The text seems straightforward and practical. The format is not particularly attractive and the photographs are disappointing, but after all the text is the important factor and it is keyed to the man to whom the average garden book is useless.
