KIRKUS REVIEW

Insurance investigator Milo March, long time the ""boy wonder,"" rising like the price of gold -- three hundred dollars per diem now -- as he's sent to find out why an abandoned gold mine has now been reactivated with a two million dollar insurance policy on it if it runs dry. Or was it salted? Unfortunately there's a nice old landmark character called Necktie who ends up with a rope around his. . . . You don't need an assayer for this one -- it's very simple but Milo has his following and it's just as quick as that interval between drinks -- martinis if you remember.
