SEND FOR JOHNNY DANGER

Another first step to the moon makes up the theme of fourteen-year-old David's adventure when he joins space officer Johnny Danger as a crew member of the Atropos. The group lands on a barren lunar dust-sea and are saved from asphyxiation by a group of Martians who subsequently threaten their lives. David's robot friend saves them, however, and David returns to England knowing that from now on he will stand apart from other men because of his unique experience. Although there is some interesting scientific speculation here, the imaginative picturing of the moon and the trip through space is so familiar as to make the whole episode not much more exotic than a trip around the Bronx zoo.
