THE INVISIBLE VOICES

This is a book for specialists in literary oddities, and it is so well done that it should not be ignored by others who like fine writing. A series of stories woven together on the thread of nine men being summoned -- by accident -- to come and marry a dying girl. They chose the man from the number by deciding on which tells the most extravagant tale in a radio contest. A curiosity -- but Shiel's How The Old Woman Got Home put the spotlight on him -- so watch him.
