THE LOST PYRAMID by M. Zakaria Goneim

THE LOST PYRAMID

By

Pub Date: Nov. 8th, 1956

A native Egyptologist, Mr. Goneim is very well equipped to the progress and meaning of his own famous discovery of the third dynasty pyramid of Sehem Khet at Sakkara. Beginning with an orientation to the period, he sets theories of shape and structure and the society of the time. Then coming up to the details of his own project there is a satisfying account of preliminary organization, on the slow uncovering of the surrounding wall, the entry to the now notoriously empty sarcophagus- all material that gives fresh insight into archaeological doings. Fine for supplementary reading or that sudden new interest in ancient history.
