THE SIGN OF THE UNICORN

Alone in Paris at the age of eighteen, Julia manages fairly well for herself, but chances to become involved with two strange individuals. Curiosity leads Julia into the center of blackmail and murder; she knows her French friends are connected with the intrigue, and sets out to uncover details. By withholding information from both the reader and J., the author creates a realistic amount of suspense and maintains tension nearly to the end. Mainly mystery with a minimal romance, it is smoothly written--for girls.
