We're not sure that the tour de force in this humorous story could have been carried off with such case and purposefulness in real life- but whether or no- it serves to prove a point. As the story opens, Katie, 9, is helping her mother and father bid a barrowing hguest farewell . Then Katie is taken with the wonderful idea of becoming a herself of having breakfast served to her in bed, of sleeping on her mother's best pink sheets, and so forth. Getting her parents to comply (which they do with fingers crossed behind their backs) Katie becomes 30 year old Miss Jellytot, dresses to fit the part and departs to make a formal entry for a six day visit. The humor rises as Katie's 30 year old desires fall more and more out of line with her 9 year old ones, until Katie is cured enough to serve her parents breakfast in bed. Masterfully told from a child's point of view- a feather in Miss Hunt's cap.
