Lss of a novel and more of a mystery than some of her earlier books, and a honey, with an lluring backdrop in a luxury ranch in Wyoming, and oddly assorted of characters in the houseparty the notorious Mrs. Parent has assembled. To this household comes the young couple, creators of a small radio station, who have been sold out by their silent partner to Mrs. Parent, and who suspect her motives. They find their suspicions confirmed --blackmail -- and determine to get at the root. In the process, they become deeply involved in successive violent deaths, dramatic stagings of false clues and drawing of false scents across the trail. Circumstantial evidence draws space, until Martha, regardless of consequences, pricks the bubble. Good suspense plenty of Incident -- and plush trimmings. Good going.
