KIRKUS REVIEW

There's a Mr. Chips' quality to this deceptively simple story of Lem Siddons, scoutmaster. Quietly, the author has told of a man whose influence permeated a whole Iowa town and who made scouting much more than an extra activity for himself and the boys who came to represent America's best. Strengthening.
