DEEP FLOWING BROOK: The Story of Johann Sebastian Bach

Excellent biography, told in such a way that the known Facts of Bach's life are adroitly woven into the fabric so that the whole reads as interestingly as a story. Occasional liberties may have been taken with the characters, conversations, etc., but they ring true, and the salient facts are all there. It was a full and interesting life and in telling the story, the author has conveyed the sense of life and background. There is less of the music than young musicians might wish, but this may increase the market for the book, and lead those who want the musical side of the story to go elsewhere.
