KIRKUS REVIEW

This is not as pretty a book as most of the Haders, but somehow it has more ""punch"" -- and the story is a good one. The young elephant made friends with the gray monkey, and the gray monkey led him into trouble by telling him about a story of free food, which proved to be bait for an elephant trap. Then his parents were trapped, too, and they were trained by the small elephant man's son to do their tricks on the Caliph's fete day. Pictures in sharp line and flat color.
