This is a reissue -- after 30 years-of an important Life of Christ. Though it does not take into consideration the many new developments which have occurred in Biblical studies, its special qualities recommend this classic to the new reader. Father de Grandmalson concentrates on conveying the personality of Christ through the presentation of evidence which makes it real. Basing his conclusions on the deeds of the Gospels, Father de Grandmalson puts the reader in touch with Christ's behavior in different encounters and circumstances. Through this objective approach the author forces the conclusion that Jesus of Mazareth is indeed the Son of God made man. Father Jean Danielou, S.J., contributes an introduction to the reissue. Beginning by having Jesus, Himself, as witness to His Divinity, the author shows the influence of Jesus on the first Christians and finally cites Christ as God, seen in lives dedicated to His service from St. Paul to St. Ignatius and from Pascal to Newman.
