KIRKUS REVIEW

From Hippocrates to the present, stories of great modern medical discoveries which have been of greatest moment. The material is not new, the handling is straight-forward but lacks distinction. I think there have been better books (Galdsten, Progress in Medicine (Knopf). Bacteria, virus diseases, parasites, vaccines and serums, animal experimentation, heart and blood diseases, tuberculosis, cancer, surgery, anaesthesia, glands, nutrition, and factors of modern medicine today.
