KIRKUS REVIEW

Melodramatic story of how a lieutenant in the Military Intelligence Division of the U. S. Army in Panama, together with a splendidly trained Dobermann pinscher, Gustav, save the canal locks from being blown up by an enemy power. The detective work by the dog is fascinating, and the setting would be interesting, but is overshadowed by the ridiculous melodrama and the mediocre writing.
