One can count on Major Meek for a first rate dog story, but this is more than that. It is virtually a handbook for raising a runt to be a champion. Of course, Rusty is almost too good to be true (though in main he is true), but each step of his conditioning, training, discipline and preparation for field trials will be fascinating to anyone interested in raising champion dogs.
