SCULPTURE INSIDE AND OUT

This book has a double claim to fame, first as an interpretation of the meaning and significance of sculpture in the world today by a sculptor of international fame, second as a beautiful book, illustrated with superb photographs of famous works of art and of the processes by which they are achieved, and with drawings and diagrams of tools, etc. It is an art book -- it is a history livened by biographical data -- it is a glimpse into the methods by which the ends are attained. And, from Miss Hoffman's angle, most important of all, it is a crystallization of her artistic creed. There is virtually no conflict with Brenda Putnam's book, The Sculptor's Way, a review of which appears in this issue. The Hoffman book will appear in two additions, an autographed de luxe editions at $7.50, limited to 200 copies.
