The species is novel but the story an old one: Arthur the aardvark doesn't like his nose, but when Dr. Louise the rhinologist (guess what kind of animal) lets him try on some others for size (chicken. . . fish. . . elephant. . . toucan. . .) he decides not to make a change after all. His friends, who used to laugh at him, now accept him as he is, for ""There's a lot more to Arthur than his nose""--but not much that makes him different from a menagerie of other picture book patients.
