THE CLOUD OVER CLARENCE

Clarence the klutzy cat bumbles his way through his birthday from the moment he rolls out of bed and onto his turtle to the more embarrassing moment at his party when he serves friend Danny's ice cream scoop on top of Danny's head. Clarence is worried when his friends retreat to whisper, but then they deliver the ""best of all his birthday presents""--a note expressing loving concern and urging him to ""think about what you are doing."" And just-like-that, ""from now on he would always think about what he was doing."" But any four-year-old knows that it isn't that simple--and that this wistful word of guidance isn't a story.
