ARTHUR'S HALLOWEEN by Marc Brown

ARTHUR'S HALLOWEEN

By

Pub Date: Sept. 1st, 1982
ISBN: 1607881284
Publisher: Atlantic/Little, Brown

Paying no particular heed to the personalities of aardvark Arthur and his school chums, Brown just puts them through some routine Halloween-story paces (Arthur's fright at pesky little sister D.W.'s devil regalia, his recoil at the ""horror"" food passed around at school) which lead, inevitably, to the local haunted house. . . which turn out, after the undaunted D.W. disappears inside, to harbor a friendly old lady who just can't afford to keep the place in repair. Arthur promises to return to tidy up the yard and, newly emboldened, leads the others home through the cemetery--""a great place. People are just dying to get in."" Skippable except for slavish Arthurians.
