The wild blue is mostly yonder while Amy learns the procedures of an Air Force base library (in Korea) from her exacting boss, copes with everything from tangled acquisition records to instant book reviews to the Charles Cotton Dana award. She's the sort somebody will look at some day and ask ""why does a girl as pretty as you deliberately try to make herself as unattractive as possible?""--so she fluffs up her hair and they become a twosome. Everybody but Amy knows Larry's not right for her and even she notices that he's not much interested in the problem of book theft at the library. But there's always Jeff in the background, appropriately dark, and when Larry defects and Amy falls escaping from the man who's been black-marketing the missing books, he's there to pick up the pieces. Good recruiting material for service libraries but you have to like the work--there's lots of it.
