MARY ALLEN: Publicity Girl by Marcia Paul

MARY ALLEN: Publicity Girl

By

Pub Date: Feb. 1st, 1947

A career book with enough romance to appeal to teen age girls. Mary Allen had planned and studied in order to come to New York and be a publicity girl. Inexperience made it impossible for her to start anywhere except as a filing clerk, but this she did with zest and the ups and downs that added up to final success. Johnny, a flip newspaper man came her way as did numbers of other people that were new, exciting and strange,- honest people and phonies of this glittering profession. Johnny is one of the genuine ones -- and wins Mary in the end. There are other interests in her girl friends and roommates, and her kindly Aunt Louisa. There's a substantial amount of interesting career detail on the serious sides of publicity.
