A menu and recipe book for the weekend hostess -- to be rated A+ for general convenience. Miss Wallace not only lists menus for the five meals (she has wisely pared away Saturday's breakfast and Sunday's lunch), but includes recipes for prepared dishes (most concocted in advance), a shopping list for each model weekend (there's a summer's worth), a run-down on kitchen and shelf supplies, and directions on how to adapt each menu for youngsters. The recipes are fanciful and guest-ish, but solid enough for winter practice on the family. Clever and eminently useful as gift or guide.
