An enclunting portrait of a seven year old, which teen agers will appreciate with a considering look at young members of their own families. For one has definitely a sense of thin is what makes them tick. Gus man an afterthought in his family; his older brother and sister grown and married. But this did not bother him until his sister brought her seven year old son to stay for an indefinite time. Then as ""Unk"", Gus began to suffer- and question- and the attention. At times Tom was a good companion, at times a hated rival. The setting is a Texas small town - a neighboring ranch- and the people are likable and recognisable.
