The Southwest, Texas and the Gulf districts form a rather unusual setting for a good Indian story. The Hasinai and the Narogdochen had once been friendly; but when the story opens they are bitter enemies. Then a Hainal lad saves the life of a Na, and they become blood members of the same clan and share experiences in growing to manhood. When eventually they risk their lives to bring food to the tribe the ground is laid for reviving the friendship between the hostile tribes. The routine of life among the Indians is handled, and a fast paced story carries the interest along from first to last. These are tribes of which almost nothing has been written, so this forms a good addition to the Indian shelves.
