KIRKUS REVIEW

The Craig family are forced by a season's poor catch to stay on in Alaska at their salmon fishing base, and they prepare to spend the winter fishing, hunting, living the rugged life. Unscrupulous scoundrels bring about unrest and destruction by giving the Indians fire water, and young Robert and his father's faithful employees at the cannery succeed in catching the men with their incriminating haul. Competent background, intimate woodland and hunting scopes, but the plot drags at times and the interest is only moderately well sustained.
