LOVE IS A PLACE

A pleasant novel about an average young couple, their average children, in an average suburban setting near San Francisco. The author achieves her goal of wringing drama out of humdrum problems and clips along at a fast pace so that the reader finds herself caring whether Katharine Fox vacuums the living room or delivers Button's forgotten luncheon to school. There's the round of neighborhood activities and relationships. There's even a romantic interlude with its aftermath of anxiety, sufficiently disturbing to the sound foundation of mutual devotion so that both Katharine and Roger seek psychiatric aid and win through to adjustment.
