To further The Creative Use of Leisure, and affiliated with her earlier books (Fun and Games; Family Fun And Activities) this assembles a great deal of useful information whether for the young with undirected energies, or the old with unemployed time on their hands. The hobbies here are divided into four sections; things to make; things to collect; things to learn; and things to do, and are arranged alphabetically. There is basic information on each, along with equipment when necessary, groups and societies to be joined, and a bibliography of books and periodicals in each case. More than a hundred hobbies are suggested- and the book has its obvious value for teachers, parents, recreational group leaders, as well as general stimulus and reference.
