KIRKUS REVIEW

Reminiscences of Alaska told from a woman's angle go back to the steamboat, days of 1911 when the writer's stepfather became Assistant U.S. Attorney and the family moved to Fairbanks. Her childhood impressions of an isolated boom are succeeded by a lyrical account of 3 expeditions to untouched areas in Alaska with her biologist husband. The people, wildlife and terrain are enthusiastically described in her book. Again this holds a timely reminder of the need to preserve wildlife in America's northern state.
