The Little Review, as a magazine of poetry, short stories, comment and criticism that flourished in the twenties, was classed by some as ""highbrow"", and is regarded now as a literary beacon and a stamping ground for new writers better known today than they were three decades ago. Here, for those who remember it and for those in search of the flavor of the times, is a rich sampling from its pages. Emphasis is placed on poetry and comment and the names at once familiar are Ezra Pound- John Cowper Powys with a raft of spot analyses on such as James, Dreiser, and Dostoevsky- William Carlos Williams- Marianne Moore Edgar Lee Masters- and another of the Little Review editors, Jane Heap. Poets are represented both with their own poems and their opinions on the work of others and Pound's ""A Study in French Poets"" is noteworthy. On the side of the short stories there are those one time left bankers, Hemingway and Gertrude Stein- Ben Hecht- Sherwood Anderson and more. Warm welcome from the addicted predicted.
