DOWN THE ROAD A PIECE by Margaret Flint

DOWN THE ROAD A PIECE

By

Publisher: Dodd, Mead

A pleasant, quiet story, with good Maine atmosphere, and a slight sense of suspense and conflict in the story of a country girl whose emotions are divided between the man who will make her a good stay-at-home husband, but who fails to arouse her passion, the school teacher with career ambitions, who is skilled at love making, but puts himself first -- and the ne'er do well, who really holds her emotions in his power. She marries the stay-at-home, and eventually straightens out her tangled web by finding an outlet in the farm dairy. Some will call it an old fashioned tale -- others will find it refreshingly uncomplicated.
