THE TRUE BOOK OF AIR AROUND US

By

Publisher: Childrens Press

Presenting difficult concepts for earliest readers is an exacting task this author accomplishes with care and patience. She gives a good story of our atmosphere and how the weather is made with enough causal relationships that if not completely explanatory, will at least prompt the right kind of questions. Neatly set type and a simple text a first grader can read, lead off with earth's orientation to its atmosphere, the sun and the space between, then move into the colors of the sky, how wind is made and the different kinds of weather it creates. Separate comments on rain, snow, fog, weather maps, etc. follow.
