Dramatic school was her goal when Ingrid Hansson came to Los Angeles hoping to qualify for a scholarship. When she is rejected, her Uncle Steve offered a poor alternative- that she join him and his daredevil auto show on the road. At first Ingrid is bewildered by the people, the slang, the show. But as she learns more about them and their way of life, she is swept into the excitement and confusion. After a successful season, Ingrid is encouraged by her new daredevil friends to try for the scholarship again. They give her moral support and they coach her strenuously before her audition. And this time she is accepted. In spite of the provocative subject matter, it is a slow moving story, but with some fresh slants.
