KIRKUS REVIEW

Young Joe's chats with various seagoing uncles, cousins etc., benefit him with information about the craft and the various crafts. There is Uncle Billy's rowboat, Uncle Pete's simple sailboat, a canoe, a cruising yacht, boats with engines, ferry boats, fireboats, tugs and big ships. Joe learns a little about each in his conversations and, thrown in for good measure are various developmental stages of the boat through the ages. But more talkative than informative, this may leave gaps for the young enthusiast.
