RY OF PLAYERS

The exciting London of Elizabeth I's reign is reduced to a wordy jumble in this simple story of a boy player. An Elizabethan mood is artificially established by dialogue which is contrived and explanations which interrupt the weak plot. For uch plodding, the reader does get an idea of the players' hectic life, but it's hardly worth the struggle.
