Those irretrievably (lower) middle-class bears are back-- Slippers, Socks and Boots last seen in Hannibal and the Bears (1965--575, J-193). Will they find work or must they face an early retirement? In this episode they try being in a coal display, then young Socks samples the life of a truck mascot. Socks' shipment is hijacked but (owner) Polly's fiancee rescues, is rewarded, can afford marriage and a children's shoe shop where the bears will work happily....The human concerns about jobs and ""catching"" mildew are drolly incongruous, but like many British stories this is too slow-moving for American kids--the action is inanimate and the fantasy is mundane.
