Do adolescents like to read about the growing pains of adolescents? Particularly of girls who are misfits, too big, too unsophisticated, too unpopular with boys for the sense of ""belonging"" they all seem to want? This is the story of 16-year old Ursula, who went on a chaperoned trip to Mexico because of the problems the summer would precipitate at home. She had a good many hard knocks and disappointments; she found the application of the ""pink magic"" formula to make her a social success not too successful. But she met Wally Grant, and they found in each other perfect companionship. There's a certain amount of humor, corny humor to be sure; and the level of adolescent stream of consciousness is sustained by arbitrary use of the current lingo, which dates too fast. But perhaps the book has something for this reading level.
