Light to lu, for a story of marital hazards in wartime with Monolulu's tropical temperature as background. Archie, ten years and happily married to Willa is sent down to Pearl arber where the military nonctony cases the way for Blythe, twenty-two, buoyant and . Both reluctantly, but inescapably drift into an affair even though Blythe had always wanted marriage and marriage only, and Archie has qualms, Blythe becomes pregnant, refuses to tell him about it, loses him when he is transferred back home, attempts suicide, and eventually finds happiness in marriage to an Ensign as Archie settles back with Willa. Rentals -- if not too carefully supervised.
