Hortense, an elderly American geneaologist in Scotland for a summer tracing a forebear, is separated from her briefcase and her nephew and detained by a group of bearded young men in a castle where for a time it would seem she leaves no stone unturned. The air is heavy with Scotland's historic past and a current independence Movement but it's all quite muddled and you'll spend too much time rrolling everry rr from Culloden to Edinburgh.
