Stranger than science fiction, a report on solar energy today gives startling evidences of progress. Experts believe that our known reserves of all types of fuel, including the atomic materials, will last only a few hundred years at present rates of consumption. But man uses over more fuel, with more appliances and greater speed in transportation an accepted condition. Hence the emphasis today on drawing energy and fuel from the fabulous fireball, the sun. Tomorrow promises air cooled by solar energy as well as homes heated by the sun -- homes which turn on an axis. Solar-powered radio, telephone, and cooking are on the horizon.
