DROWN THE WIND

Call it a suspense story or a murder mystery- it comes through rather as a regional place about the folkways of an Island off the coast of Maine. There on the morning of a town meeting day at which held planned to throw a bombshell into the laps of his fellow townsman, Andy Bruce is found dead- possibly by accident, possibly murdered. Suspects were and circumstantial evidence seemed incontrovertible until the time schedule presented contradictions. Romance greed for money and property- folk mores and prejudices all provided both clues and causes, which the youngish town marshal, Gil, laboriously unravelled -- to a not too predictable solution.
