Pico set out bravely from Mexico City to go up into the silver mountain to return to the home of his people, the Nahua Indians, mountaineers, cousins to the Aztecs. He wanted to find work in Taxco in the silver mines. He has many adventures on his way, including a dinner with a wealthy kind Senora. This is a well told story full of details of Mexican life. Pico is courageous and independent, American boys will love and admire him.
