KIRKUS REVIEW

New addition to a popular series, seventeen in all, each devoted to a different breed of dog. Gay was frightened as a puppy and unable to do the normal chores of his kind. But loving care plus some adventures of his own, brought him ultimately into the ranks of super-sheep dogs, where as dog here he belongs. Satisfying story, satisfying pictures (though I always wish that Margaret Johnson would confine her drawings to animals- her humans are disappointing lay figures). A sure favorite with dog-loving children. The setting is a sheep ranch of western Colorado.
