KIRKUS REVIEW

In the same pattern as the Ottos' other non-fiction (see The Tractor Book, The Boat and Ship Book etc.), here is a survey of the equine world all the way from the refined Lippizans to the plodding packhorse. Sketches of 24 different varieties give a maximum amount of information in a minimum of space; excellent photographs from many sources show the horses at home and in action. Bound to appeal to horse lovers of any age, this shows up well in its field.
