KIRKUS REVIEW

Miss Vance has divided her material from the economic angle, grouping her items under such sections as Capitals which control the world, Capitals of countries small but peaceful, and so on. Under each heading, she gives details as to how the city was founded, the main points of interest, historical, architectural or pictorial, but she does not go into any details as to industries, reasons for growth, people, etc. Too brief and too simple even for the age group for which it is presumably intended.
