KIRKUS REVIEW

A gay front for serious stuff as the author tells why and how she joined up, was indtrinated at Cedar Falls, lands in the Medical Corps as a Pharmacist's Mate. That ""physical"" exa and its humiliations: rules and regulations and their rigors: lation over the Mainbocher get-up: training at the U.S. Naval Hospital at ethesda, Md. -- and a certain young Lieutenant M.D., Bill. Assigned to a base hospital in Philadelphia, she had German and six days of , then a second germ -- and this book. Bill's sailing orders and a weak-end to seal the sentimental end. Some do's and don'ts for practical guidance, to like-minded enlistees.
