BRAVE JOHN HENRY

A favorite- and consistently best-selling- author- illustrator tells some hilarious adventures of tubby John Henry and his tubby dog and cat, Rover and Poody. Out in his back yard, John Henry threatens them first with a dragon in a barrel, then a lion in the apple tree and a sea serpent from the pond. Then Poody and Rover turn tables and scare John Henry too- but not enough to keep them from getting their supper. Innocuous but- at picture book level- thoroughly palatable. Fairly sturdy stitching.
